why would he say that he was pushed out of newcastle ?? when obviously he wanted to join liverpool . if he had just said that he left because that he wanted to win trophies it still would have stung like a bitch but at least i wouldnt feel betrayed . lesson learned never compare anyone to shearer ever again .
One thing that IS DEFINATELY worth £50-55 million is the north-east PASSION and FIGHT this guy and hendo will bring to us! Good luck fellas and welcome to the Kennolution, you chose the right club 😉
@vchrisvideo He is a really good player, I agree with you. But he is so young and does’t have a huge amount of experience. And just think that players like David Villa, Thiery Henry and Sneider have all been bought for less. And theres just no compairing there skill to him, they are in a completely different level of skill to him.
@marleyman14 I do agree with you there, but if you think about it, he’s young, English, and really tall, he scored 19 goals for Newcastle, and now he’s going to be playing with players like Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Dirk Kuyt, Daniel Agger. Jamie Carragher , him upfront with Suarez or Kuyt, is going to be amazing, watch out Manchester United, because next year, the Premier League title is ours !!
I agree that £35m is a bit too much, but could Liverpool or any other club have bought him for anything less? I think Liverpool paid the premium due to the fact that Andy Carroll is english and the transfer was on the last day of the January transfer window. At £20m – £25m, I would have been ecstatic. I am still happy that he joined LIverpool though.
I’m a newcastle fan. He was getting a lot of exposure with our first team. We’re gutted that he’s left us, and a little sore. But 35 million is a good deal for a young striker.
Hope he does well at Liverpool. However, I felt that he should stay at Newcastle at least for another 2-3 seasons. First team football will do him very well.
@geordiemad113 Think I didn’t make myself clear here. According to that paper, Andy said that they(Newcastle) left him with no other options, but to leave.
