CARROLL URGED TO LEAVE NEWCASTLE UNITED

Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll has been urged to leave the club in this current January transfer window in a bid to get more playing time elsewhere. Andy Carroll was advised to leave the Magpies by former Premier League player turned pundit Nedum Onuoha.

Ex-Manchester City defender NedumOnuoha urgedAndy Carroll to move to a club like Sheffield United where he can cause chaos for the opposition. Andy Carroll has struggled for regular playing time at Newcastle United since his return to the club on a free transfer at the start of last season. He re-signed for the Magpies in the summer of 2019 after his West Ham United deal ended.

NedumOnuoha told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that a team like Sheffield United could be a good fit for Andy Carroll. According to him, Sheffield United have scored just nine goals in the league this season and it’s time the club try to change its way to get a better result in front of goal. NedumOnuoha wants Sheffield United to add a different type of threat to their attack in the bid to try to avoid demotion to the English Championship at the end of this Premier League season.

Sheffield United are bottom of the Premier League and they are nine points adrift of Brighton & Hove Albion who occupy the final safe place on the log. The Blades were given a lifeline in their fight to avoid the drop when they managed to pick up a morale-boosting win over Newcastle United.

Sheffield United legend Billy Sharp scored the only goal of the game against 10-man Newcastle United as the Blades recorded a 1-0 victory at home to the Magpies. Andy Carroll came on as a second half substitute but he was unable to change the outcome of the game.
